Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC attorneys Jonathan H. Schwartz and John W. Mashni have both recently been named to leadership positions during the 2017-2018 term for the State Bar of Michigan's Arts, Communication, Entertainment and Sports (“ACES”) Section. Schwartz will serve as this term's Chair while Mashni will serve as Treasurer.

The ACES Section of the State Bar of Michigan provides education, information, and analysis about issues of concern regarding arts, communication, entertainment and sports through meetings, seminars, the web, public service programs, and the ACES newsletter.

Schwartz, who served on the ACES Section executive board for several years prior to becoming Chair, represents companies and individuals in many types of litigation, including business, complex commercial, employment, real estate, and entertainment matters. In addition, he assists clients with transactional matters, such as contract drafting, negotiations, and deal making, and all aspects of risk management, governance, and operation.

Mashni has served on the ACES Section council since 2015. John Mashni is an active member of the Startup Entrepreneurial Emerging Development (S.E.E.D.) Practice Group with a strong focus in business, tax, entertainment, intellectual property, and technology. Prior to working at Foster Swift, John managed a media department at a large leadership development company.  During this time, he also ran a production company, serving as a director, audio engineer, and visual effects artist.

Schwartz serves his clients out of Foster Swift's Southfield and Detroit offices while Mashni practices in Lansing. For more information on the legal services that these two attorneys can provide, please visit www.fosterswift.com.
