There will be two major components to this seminar:

MUST-HAVE POLICIES

Policies are necessary for all aspect of Library operations. Policies are also important tools to be used when dealing with patrons. Foster Swift Attorney Anne M. Seurynck will discuss what policies every library should have in place and provide some of the key provisions that should be included in those policies to help avoid a legal challenge. Patron Behavior Policies, Meeting Room Policies, Internet Use Policies, Record Retention and Confidentiality Policies will be the primary focus of this session.

AVOIDING EMPLOYMENT LAWSUITS

This interactive program will address preventative measures or action items for libraries to implement in an effort to limit liability to employment-related claims. Attorney Anne Seurynck will address not only preventative strategies but also new employment legislation and hot-button employment litigation issues affecting libraries.

There is no fee to attend this event, courtesy of Foster Swift, however, advance registration is advised.
