Michigan’s driver's license sanctions are among the most severe in the nation. We have assisted many clients facing the loss of driving privileges. In many cases we have preserved our clients' licenses and have obtained restoration of driving privileges that were suspended or revoked.

Noteworthy
- May 2026 – Represented physician and PhD candidate in complex Title IX matter wherein the client was accused of violated multiple university sexual and gender-based misconduct policies. All allegations were found to be unsubstantiated against the client after a multiple-day administrative hearing.
- March 2026 – Represented landlord charged with five misdemeanor crimes. All charges dismissed with prejudice.
- October 2025 – Represented farmer charged with multiple counts of Assault and Battery based on an allegation that the farmer intentionally sprayed people with herbicide. All charges against the farmer were dismissed.
- April 2025 – Represented juvenile charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct – Second Degree. All charges dismissed with prejudice.
- Attorney Alexander S. Rusek successfully negotiated the dismissal of the assaultive criminal charges against his client less than one week before the start of the trial in the matter.
- Represented national corporation charged criminally for violating building codes and ordinances. Alexander S. Rusek successfully negotiated a dismissal of the criminal charges resulting in a de minimis fine for the client.
- Represented car dealership in a federal lawsuit and associated arbitration matter wherein the Plaintiff claimed numerous violations of consumer protection laws and other causes of action. Case was successfully settled within one week of the client retaining Foster Swift, which included a resolution of the arbitration matter and dismissal of the federal lawsuit without any admissions of guilt or liability.
- August 2023 – Represented municipality in misdemeanor criminal case and successfully secured conviction of the defendant at a jury trial for assaulting a healthcare worker.
- March 2023: Client was charged with Assault and Battery and was alleged to have physically assaulted her minor sister. Following extensive negotiations with the prosecutor, the case was dismissed in its entirety, leaving our client with a clean record.
- March 2023: Client was charged with Operating While Intoxicated – High BAC and Refusal to Submit to a Preliminary Breath Test. Client, a 20-year old student, was alleged to have crashed his vehicle on the highway with a BAC of 0.194 (more than double the legal limit of 0.08 BAC). After successful negotiations with the prosecutor, client pled to the significantly reduced charge of Operating While Visibly Impaired and was sentenced to fines and costs (no jail, no probation).
- People v. Croft I – Lead counsel for client charged with multiple criminal counts, including False Pretenses >$100,000.00 and Conspiracy, arising from the Flint Water Crisis. All charges were dismissed in June 2019.
- People v. Croft II – Lead counsel for client indicted by a one-person grand jury in 2021 on charges of Willful Neglect of Duty arising from the Flint Water Crisis. All charges dismissed in May 2023.
- People v. Alford – Represented client charged with homicide and other crimes. All charges against client dismissed in December 2020. Mr. Alford’s case is listed in the National Registry of Exonerations.
- Alford v. The Hertz Company, et al. – Represented client in civil litigation against The Hertz Company for its actions resulting in client’s wrongful homicide conviction and subsequent imprisonment. Settled amicably within four months of filing Complaint in Ingham County, Michigan Circuit Court for an amount greater than all known civil settlements arising from wrongful imprisonment in Michigan.
- People v. Edmund – Represented client charged with homicide and other crimes at trial.
- People v. T.G. – Represented minor client charged with Open Murder and firearm related offenses.
