Matthew Fedor focuses his practice in estate planning, probate, and trust administration, guardianship and conservatorship, business succession planning, corporate matters and litigation. This combination of practice areas allows him to counsel clients on wealth strategies for their business and personal assets as well as create various ancillary trusts and limited liability companies for this purpose.
Matt advises clients on all aspects of estate planning from initial consultation, gathering of personal information and histories, recommendation for plan documents, and specific funding instructions for their individual assets. He also counsels clients regarding tax planning, estate reduction techniques, and Medicaid planning. Matt represents clients in defense of guardianship and conservatorship proceedings and advises those seeking guardianships and conservatorship for family members. He is responsible for administration of estates and trusts and has acted as trustee for various clients.
Matt has a unique perspective due to his experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in business disputes and various contract actions. Prior to his entry into private practice, Matt served as in-house counsel with a real estate development and management company in Farmington Hills. In his role as general counsel to clients, he has advised on corporate-related areas including entity choice, start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell agreements, shareholder buyouts, real estate transactions, contract review, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
Matt earned his law degree from Michigan State University and his undergraduate degree from Indiana University.
