ACG “Deal of the Year over $50M” - Foster Swift Leads Formation of Voltava via DMS Acquisition of Android Industries and Avancez
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC served as lead counsel to Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS) in its acquisition of Android Industries and Avancez, forming Voltava, a newly established global automotive supply company. The transaction was recognized by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Detroit as a winner of its “Deal of the Year Over $50 Million in Revenue” award.
DMS was honored at ACG Detroit’s 11th Annual M&A All Star Awards this past Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. The annual program recognizes outstanding transactions and the professionals shaping Southeast Michigan’s mergers and acquisitions landscape.
Foster Swift advised DMS throughout all phases of the transaction, including deal structuring, due diligence, negotiation and drafting of acquisition agreements, and buyer‑side financing arrangements. The counsel team consisted of attorneys Robert Hamor, Matthew Fedor, Michael Blum, Clifford Hammond, Anthony Dalimonte, and Badri Yono Jr.
The transaction involved the coordinated acquisition of two established automotive suppliers with complementary capabilities and geographic footprints. Android Industries and Avancez each bring extensive experience in sequencing, assembly, logistics, and manufacturing services for automotive original equipment manufacturers. Through the acquisitions, DMS consolidated these operations under the Voltava brand, creating a unified enterprise positioned for long‑term growth across global markets.
Managing multiple acquisitions as part of a single strategic initiative underscores Foster Swift’s experience handling complex M&A transactions in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. The firm’s multidisciplinary team worked closely with DMS to align legal strategy with business objectives throughout the process.
