Overview

Badri Yono Jr. is an attorney with Foster Swift’s Business & Tax practice group, where he advises businesses, business owners, and entrepreneurs on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters. He works with clients throughout the life cycle of a business, from formation and day-to-day operations to acquisitions, ownership transitions, and succession planning.

Badri assists clients with entity formation and structuring, corporate governance, commercial agreements, mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sale transactions, and other general business matters. He regularly drafts and negotiates agreements and works with clients to address legal issues that arise as their businesses operate, grow, and evolve.

A significant part of Badri’s practice involves advising closely held and family-owned businesses and their owners. He assists with shareholder and operating agreements, ownership and management matters, buy-sell arrangements, business succession planning, and the admission, withdrawal, and transition of owners. His work often involves helping clients structure transactions and ownership arrangements with both their immediate business needs and long-term objectives in mind.

Badri’s estate planning practice complements his work with business owners, particularly when personal estate planning and business succession objectives intersect. This experience allows him to help clients coordinate the ownership and transition of their businesses with their broader estate plans.

In addition to his general corporate practice, Badri represents health care providers and organizations on business, transactional, contractual, and regulatory matters.

Badri earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and his undergraduate degree cum laude from Oakland University.
