Overview
Destiny Hughes is an associate in the Lansing office of Foster Swift, practicing as a member of both the Litigation and Finance, Real Estate & Bankruptcy practice groups, focusing her practice on a broad range of litigation issues.
Destiny started at Foster Swift in 2022 as a Summer Associate, conducting legal research and writing assignments for supervising attorneys and attended court proceedings, client meetings, and mitigations.
Prior to rejoining Foster Swift in 2023 after graduating law school, Destiny worked as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Justice Elizabeth Welch for the Michigan Supreme Court, researching legal issues and advising Justice Welch on whether the Court should grant certain applications for leave appeal.
Destiny received her Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law. While attending MSU Law, she received six Jurisprudence Achievement Awards which are awarded to the highest achieving student who earned the top grade in certain focus areas including Contracts, Property, Business Enterprises and Negotiation. Destiny was also the first-place champion of a national law school moot court competition.
