Michael A. Cassar
Overview
Mike Cassar’s practice focuses on representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters across Michigan. He is dedicated to providing defense in complex workers’ compensation cases, ensuring that employers are well-represented in disputes involving injured workers. Additionally, Mike counsels employers of all sizes on workplace safety and employment law matters to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Mike is a strong courtroom advocate for his clients. Because he is conscious of how extended litigation increases costs and may disrupt a client’s business, he works with every client to develop a strategy on how best to resolve a litigated case. Sometimes that requires an aggressive strategy that pushes a case to trial. Other times it leads to an expedited settlement. Regardless of the approach, Mike is a relentless advocate for his clients.
Outside of the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids, and extended family. He enjoys hiking, biking, and kayaking when weather permits. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Oakland Community College where he teaches business law, legal research, and legal writing.
Mike is a shareholder who splits time between the firm’s Southfield and Lansing offices.
