Overview

Michael Oliva assists domestic and international corporations with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and other complex business transactions. He has over 40 years of experience in administrative and regulatory law before both state and federal agencies and appellate courts, involving gas and electric energy, pipelines, telecommunications and securities.

Michael graduated in 1978 with his law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan. Prior to that, he earned his B.A. summa cum laude in 1975 from Albion College.

Michael has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Administrative / Regulatory Law and Energy Law, since 2012. He was selected as the 2019 Lawyer of the Year for Energy Law. He is also listed as AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell in Administrative Law, Energy Law and Utility Law, and is a Leading Lawyer in Governmental, Municipal, Lobbying and Administrative Law.
