Michael Liddane is a member of the litigation practice group focusing his practice on transportation related lawsuits, including personal injury, death, and property damage resulting from railroad, commercial vessel and marine pleasure craft accidents. He is an experienced litigator in matters of cargo transit losses and marine salvage cases.
His experience includes handling asbestos product liability claims, property liability cases, and insurance defense and subrogation recoveries for insurance clients. He has defended many insurance agent errors and omissions matters. In addition, Michael has defended and prosecuted Class Actions and achieved significant subrogation recoveries for insurance clients.
Michael has spent his career handling a wide variety of transportation-related lawsuits including significant personal injury, death and property damage cases from railroad, merchant vessel, and marine pleasure craft accidents, including numerous Limitation Act proceedings on behalf of vessel owners under Federal law. He has litigated dozens of Cogsa, Carmack and Warsaw cargo transit property losses, NVOCC matters, and marine salvage cases.
Michael holds a Pre-eminent AV Peer Review rating. He is also a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Transportation Law Association and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. He is also the co-founder and Vice President of Special Kids, Inc., a charity that focuses on serving the needs of children in Southeast Michigan.
