Based in Southfield, Lisa Serra serves as legal counsel for enterprises and individuals in both business and family law. In the arena of family law, Lisa is a fierce, reliable advocate, representing clients in a broad range of matters, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal support, property division, and post-judgment proceedings.
For many small and mid-sized businesses, Lisa serves as outside general counsel, providing strategic legal advice on business operations, contracts, employment matters, risk management, compliance, and corporate governance. With more than a decade of legal experience behind her, when you leave her office, you'll know your concerns were heard and that you are in good hands.
Prior to Foster Swift, Lisa spent years representing individual and corporate clients in the financial services industry in a wide variety of securities related cases across the country in courts and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitrations and regulatory matters.
Lisa earned her Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2013. During her time in law school, she worked as a 711 Student Licensed Law Clerk for the Chicago Housing Authority. She held a judicial externship with the Honorable Justice David P. Sterba of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, and served as a Justice of the John Marshall Moot Court Honors Program.
Prior to law school, Lisa earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2009, double majoring in Economics and Political Science.
Outside of her practice, Lisa stays actively involved in the community and serves as Board Member for Kathy’s Kindness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing aid and support to people, families, and furry friends. Lisa loves spending time with her family, attending barre exercise classes, relaxing along the Lake Huron shoreline, and watching Michigan Football (Go Blue!).
