Genovich Listed in 2026 Crain's Grand Rapids Notable Women in Law

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Crain’s Grand Rapids Business has named Foster Swift shareholder, Laura Genovich, to the 2026 Notable Women in Law list.

The women on this list are leaders in West Michigan’s legal community that have advised clients on high-profile acquisitions, led municipalities in environmental and alternative energy projects, argued appeals before state and federal courts, and sought justice for victims of crime. Their dedication includes mentoring young staff workers, volunteering to improve civic and service agencies, and shaping legal organizations to benefit clients, coworkers and communities.

Laura practices municipal law, appellate law, and bankruptcy/commercial law. Very active in firm management, Laura is the Vice President of the firm’s Grand Rapids office, serves as the Chair of the firm’s Appellate Practice Group and is very involved in the firm’s recruiting and mentoring initiatives.

In addition to her law practice, Laura is committed to improving the practice of law and has published a book on clear legal writing, “The Plain Language Practice,” and has appeared on legal podcasts including the XL Legal Podcast and the Thought Leadership Podcast. She is an adjunct professor at Cooley Law School.
