Janssen Receives Community Foundation Philanthropy Award

Foster Swift attorney, Charley Janssen, was presented with the Community Foundation Philanthropy award, at the 2018 Governor’s Service Awards (GSA) ceremony on June 5. Charley Janssen has been engaged as a volunteer, trustee, board chair and major donor to the Capital Region Community Foundation for more than 20 years. As an attorney and passionate advocate for charitable giving, he has devoted countless hours to encouraging individuals to support charitable organizations, resulting in gifts to the Community Foundation exceeding $25 million.

The Community Foundation is passionate about creating vibrant, thriving communities throughout the Capital Region. The Foundation works with donors to meet their unique charitable goals, supports area nonprofits with grants and coaching and leads innovative projects that drive community growth. The Capital Region Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that serves the charitable needs and enhances the quality of life for people in Ingham, Clinton and Eaton counties.

“Charley’s importance to our community goes far beyond his support of the Community Foundation. In fact, he’s been a champion for all charitable giving, positively impacting countless other charitable organizations in the Greater Lansing Region and beyond.” stated Foundation President and CEO, Dennis Fliehman.

“Charley is a committed philanthropic partner, a dedicated community member and a valued friend.
