Joining Foster Swift in 1983, Mike is a shareholder in the firm and devotes his law practice to the defense of employers, third party administrators, and insurance carriers in Workers’ Compensation matters. He is a former Chair of the Litigation Department and past President of the firm. Currently, Mike sits on the firm’s Executive Committee and serves as President of the firm.
Admitted to practice in both Michigan and Illinois, Mike is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Ingham County Bar Association.
Mike is the author of several published articles on workers’ compensation topics in the Illinois Bar Journal and the Wayne State University Law Review. He has been an adjunct instructor of Business Law at both the University of Illinois and Michigan State University. He is currently an adjunct professor of workers’ compensation at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America.
A native of Alton, Illinois, Mike is an alumnus of the University of Illinois. As an undergraduate, he was Phi Beta Kappa and completed his studies magna cum laude. He earned his juris doctorate degree from the Illinois College of Law in 1983.
