Overview

Associate Toi Thomas is a member of Foster Swift's General Litigation practice. Practicing in the firm's Southfield office, Toi specializes in Family Law, Estate Planning, Criminal Law and Entertainment Law. Having previously worked in private practice, Toi:

• Drafts and files motions to stay evictions in Landlord-Tenant disputes
• Drafts and executes Wills, Trusts, and Power of Attorney documentation
• Appears and advocates on behalf of clients regarding custody, parenting time and child support disputes

A trusted legal advocate and counselor, Toi is an aspired legal analyst, known for being aggressive and articulate in the courtroom. From indigent defendants facing serious criminal allegations, to negotiating complex child support matters and executing estate planning documentation, Toi is sought by people from all walks of life for her advocacy skills and unparalleled results.

Toi graduated cum laude from Northwood University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration Management. Later she earned her Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School where she was awarded the Leadership Achievement Award which recognizes students who have “consistently, comprehensively and effectively provided leadership.” 

Toi volunteers at the Philippine American Community Center for the Pro Bono Services: Naturalization Workshop, filling out applications for immigrants looking to become US Citizens, and expungement fairs for many different organizations.
