Overview

Terri Bolyard has been with the Foster Swift law firm for over 30 years, bringing a depth of institutional knowledge and a detail-oriented approach to client service and complex transactions. As a valued member of the firm’s Business & Tax practice group, she provides comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys representing businesses, professionals, and entrepreneurs in a wide range of transactional and tax-related matters.

In her current role, Terri assists with business entity formation and governance, prepares and reviews organizational and transactional documents, coordinates filings with state and federal agencies, and supports tax-related planning and compliance matters. She works closely with attorneys to manage M&A transactions efficiently, ensuring that diligence materials, closing documentation, and regulatory requirements are handled accurately and on schedule.

During the first 15 years of her career as a paralegal, Terri worked extensively in ERISA and employee benefits matters. This background provides her with a strong understanding of employee benefit plans and compliance issues that commonly arise in corporate transactions. As a result, she brings a unique and practical perspective to mergers and acquisitions, particularly in connection with employee benefit due diligence, document review, and issue identification during the transactional process.

Terri holds an Associate of Science degree in Business Management/Business Administration from Davenport University, which complements her extensive experience and supports her work on sophisticated business and tax matters.

In addition to her professional work, Terri has been active in the paralegal community. She is a founding member and former Treasurer of the Great Lakes Paralegal Association. She is also a past recipient of the NALA Affiliated Associations Award, Michigan, and the NALS Boss of the Year Award.
