Overview

Olivia Reid is an associate in the Business & Tax practice group in the Lansing office. Her practice encompasses a range of business and tax matters, including representing clients in federal tax controversy cases involving high‑value disputes and assisting with negotiated resolutions, settlements, and payment agreements with the Internal Revenue Service. She regularly advises clients on employee benefits and nonprofit organization matters. Olivia also provides counsel on any issue that a business owner may encounter, such as entity formation, corporate governance, and general business matters.

Olivia also counsels businesses on emerging technology risks, including cybersecurity, data privacy, and artificial intelligence governance. She has spoken publicly on AI‑related legal risks and compliance considerations, including an appearance on the Michigan Business Network Podcast, where she discussed how well‑designed AI policies can help protect Michigan businesses:  See the full interview here.

Olivia earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University, where she served as Fundraiser Chair for the Empowering Women in Law Executive Board, an organization dedicated to supporting women’s education and rights and helping students prepare for law school and legal careers. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. While in law school, Olivia created a viral TikTok series sharing insights and practical guidance on navigating the law school experience.
