Overview

From the time that Destiny Hughes began working for her family’s business as a child, she always knew that she wanted a career that allowed her to help others. In college, Destiny interned for a family law attorney at a domestic violence shelter, which solidified her desire to become an attorney. Destiny’s passion for helping others to find and use their voice has never wavered and her practice continues to be centered on serving clients with empathy, compassion, and rigor. No matter whether she is representing a family-owned business in a breach of contract action or helping a family law client maneuver a complicated divorce.

Destiny currently serves on the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan’s Board of Leadership for the Mid-Michigan Chapter as its Secretary. In addition, she is a member of ATHENA WIN, a women’s interest network that provides a support system for professional women in the Lansing area.

Experience

Representative Matters

  • In a contentious divorce case, Destiny represented a victim of domestic abuse, and the opposing party attempted to thwart the court-ordered sale of the marital home. Destiny was instrumental in convincing the Court to force the sale of the marital home, and to award significant attorney fees in the client’s favor. Destiny’s hard work allowed the client to know she could successfully move on.
