Foster Swift Attorney Presents Estate Planning for Farmers

Foster Swift estate planning attorney, Douglas A. Mielock, will be a key note speaker at the Take Root Conference on Monday, February 26. The conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Lansing West Hotel, located at 925 S. Creyts Rd, Lansing, MI 48917. The conference is scheduled to run from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Sponsored by the Michigan Farm Bureau, the conference covers succession and estate planning as it pertains to farmers, providing attendees with strategies to grow their business and secure farm assets for future generations. Mielock’s session, Estate Planning 101, will cover a number of topics, including:

  • Maximizing and preserving your wealth over a lifetime
  • Reducing or deferring taxes
  • Avoiding conflict among family members
  • Transfer of wealth at death to intended recipients
