Foster Swift Webinar in conjunction with the Michigan Cooperative Directors Association
March 19, 2013

With the recent decision of the Michigan Court of Appeals striking down a library's policy prohibiting the open carry of weapons, many libraries are left to wonder what, if anything, they can regulate with respect to guns.

This session focused on the general state of gun regulation in Michigan, any proposed legislation, and the recent Michigan Court of Appeals decision. We also discussed some "practice pointers" with for developing policy. Finally, we addressed several hypothetical situations dealing with guns in the library and discussed how libraries may react.

Foster Swift presented this webinar in conjunction with the Cooperative Directors Association.
