Shipper's Duty to Mitigate Its Losses When Goods Are Damaged

Dirk moderated a panel discussion at an annual conference jointly held by the Transportation Loss Prevention & Security Association, and the Transportation and Logistics Council. Dirk led a discussion about a shipper's duty to mitigate its losses when goods arrive in a damaged condition, who "owns" the damaged and undeliverable goods, salvage procedures, public and private sales of unclaimed goods, and whether a shipper may offset damage claims against freight charges.
