Rebecca S. Davies
Shareholder
Rebecca is a shareholder in the firm’s Farmington Hills office. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Rebecca received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan at Dearborn and her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law in 1995. She was seventh in her graduating class. She just completed her masters degree in 2010 from Wayne State University Law School by obtaining her L.L.M. with a GPA of 3.79 in Labor and Employment Law.
Joining the firm in 1995, Rebecca practices primarily in the areas of employment law and commercial litigation. She represents employers in federal and state court litigation and before state and federal administrative agencies. She regularly counsels employers regarding compliance under federal and state employment laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA and Title VII), drafts policies and procedures, and advises on preventative strategies.
Rebecca's objective is to assist clients in implementing preventative strategies to avoid lawsuits. To accomplish this goal, she is a frequent author and lecturer, not only for client in-house trainings and publications, but also outside organizations, such as Walsh College, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Automation Alley and American Society of Employers, to name a few.
Representative Matters
- Regularly assist employers in implementing preventative strategies to avoid lawsuits
- Defend numerous employers in state and federal court litigation involving claims of age discrimination, Whistleblower Protection Act, race discrimination, breach of contract, and disability discrimination.
- Represent numerous employers before the EEOC and MDCR involving charges of race discrimination, age discrimination and national origin discrimination.
- Successfully defended national company in a race and national original discrimination case in 3-week federal court trial.
- Obtained no cause verdict for national company in commercial litigation in federal district court.
