Paul D. Yared
Paul Yared joined Foster Swift in 2010 bringing more than 30 years experience in business and corporate law, securities regulation, insurance industry services, public and private finance as well as real estate development.
Paul's extensive business experience was gained while serving as counsel for Foremost Corporation of America, a publicly-held insurance holding company for more than 25 years, with the last 14 years as Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel. He played a key role in the auction and sale of the company which, when completed in March, 2000, yielded $812 million for shareholders. Yared has extensive experience in general corporate legal and management skills of benefit to most businesses, having handled projects ranging from a 600 acre planned unit real estate development to defense and successful resolution of a mass tort litigation.
Representative Matters
- Helped to establish the first privately-insured, manufactured housing pass-through security. More than $200 million of such securities were placed with institutional investors from 1982 through 1985.
- Represented a Michigan-based mutual insurance company in a demutualization, converting the insurer to stock-based ownership where he then represented the stock insurer in an SEC registration and initial public offering of stock which raised $6.8 million of equity capital.
