Liza C. Moore
Liza first came to Foster Swift as a summer associate in 2007 and rejoined the firm in 2008. A member of the General Litigation Practice Group, Liza focuses primarily on insurance defense, commercial litigation, environmental law, agricultural law and appellate matters.
Known for her superb research and writing capabilities, Liza is frequently called upon to assist other attorneys in the firm with litigation in Michigan trial courts, the Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court, and other federal trial and appellate courts.
Liza is a graduate of The University of Chicago, where she earned her bachelor's degree with honors and earned special honors in her Environmental Studies major. Liza obtained her J.D. cum laude from Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington. She was awarded Dean's Honors and received the highest grade in Environmental Issues in Business Transactions and Civil Rights Statutes.
The practical experience Liza acquired prior to becoming a lawyer complements her legal insight. During law school, she served as a managing editor for the Indiana Law Journal and worked at Indiana Legal Services, Inc. She also interned at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Office of Legal Counsel. When it comes to providing counsel to clients on agricultural matters, Liza understands first hand. Liza grew up working on her parents' farm in Indiana, and served the Indiana FFA Organization as its state Northern Region Vice President.
In summer 2012, Liza worked with other agricultural law attorneys to create the new Agricultural Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She is currently the chairperson of the new section. Liza is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan FFA Foundation.
