Without question, Larry Lindemer is one of the most distinguished lawyers in Michigan. Having rejoined the firm as of counsel in 1986, Larry spent the previous ten years as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Consumers Power Company located in Jackson, Michigan.
Born in Syracuse, New York, he attended Hamilton College as an undergraduate student prior to earning his juris doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School. Larry is admitted to the Michigan Bar, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Court of Military Appeals. He is an American Bar Foundation Fellow and a member of the American Judicature Society. He is also a past commissioner of the State Bar of Michigan and a former member of the Michigan Board of Ethics.
Having served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force prior to law school, Larry became an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Ingham County, Michigan. He was next elected to the Michigan House of Representatives and served for two years before joining the staff of the Hoover Commission in Washington, D.C. for the following two years.
He spent five additional years as the Republican State Chair before becoming Regent for the University of Michigan. Moving ever upward, he was then appointed to the Michigan Supreme Court.
A past Director and current member of the Automobile Club of Michigan, and a past Director, former Chair, and current member of the American Automobile Association, Larry has served on the Governor’s Special Committee on Prison Disturbances, is a former President of the University of Michigan’s Alumni Association, and is a past Trustee and current member of the Gerald R. Ford Foundation.
