Kelly A. LaGrave, ACP

Kelly joined Foster Swift in 1993 and is a member of the Business and Corporate Practice Group. Kelly enjoys the challenges of working on a wide variety of matters such as: mergers and acquisitions; entity selection and organizational planning; for-profit and not-for-profit corporate planning, loan transactions, real estate transactions, insurance regulation, and intellectual property.

Kelly is extremely passionate about her profession and the instrumental role paralegals play at Foster Swift in delivering high quality work product and exceptional service to clients. To that point, Kelly has earned the highest level of paralegal certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA), along with Advanced Paralegal Certification (ACP) in three areas. Recognizing Kelly's talent and passion, NALA has long relied on Kelly to serve in many leadership functions within the organization. The role Kelly enjoys the most is helping to develop and deliver training to other members. Over the last few years, she has helped with the review and establishment of NALA's advanced certification program in Incorporated Business Organizations and Unincorporated Business Organizations. Additionally she regularly serves as the instructor for the Webinar program, "Basic Business Organizations."

Highlights & Recognitions

Representative Matters

• During the past six years Kelly has worked closely with a client who has purchased majority interests in various insurance agencies throughout the US. Recently, all of the agencies were consolidated into one large agency and now this client is in the top 100 insurance agencies in the US.
• Kelly has assisted with a project to sell a local mid-Michigan insurance company to a large national insurance company.
• Kelly assisted on a large asset purchase transaction whereby a large local cardiologist practice was purchased by a large hospital.
• Kelly was instrumental in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the use of electronic databases for use by clients in large transactions.
