Glen A. Schmiege

Glen Schmiege joined Foster, Swift in 1987. A member of the firm’s Administrative and Municipal Practice Group, Glen has a knack for strategizing and problem solving, and he applies this skill set to his work in administrative, telecommunications, energy and utilities matters. 

Glen's clients benefit from his 20-plus years experience in handling telecommunications matters for clients in Michigan including regulatory issues, rate cases, litigation of disputes between providers, contracts, as well as association organization and membership issues.  On the energy and utilities front, Glen is known for his ability to handle regulatory matters and contested cases.  In conjunction with the above work, Glen has developed a strong administrative law practice in that includes comment filings, work with staff of government agencies and appeals.  

Glen is admitted to the Michigan Bar and is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and Ingham County Bar Association. He gained valuable experience as a Law Clerk and Research Attorney with the Michigan Court of Appeals and brought his particular expertise to Foster Swift immediately thereafter.

Born in Saginaw, Michigan, he graduated with highest honors from Delta College and continued his education at Michigan State University, where he graduated with honors, before receiving his legal education and juris doctorate from the University of Michigan in 1984.
