Frederick B. Bellamy

Senior Attorney

Fred joined the firm in 2002 and is a member of the Health Care Law Practice Group. He received his undergraduate degree and his law degree from Wayne State University in 1961 and 1964, respectively.

Fred’s litigation practice focuses on both criminal and civil law. His criminal practice emphasizes white collar crime cases usually involving physicians or other health care providers. He successfully defended one of the first criminal Medicare fraud prosecutions in the country. Recently, coincident with the changes in Michigan tort law, Fred’s civil law practice focuses on health care fraud defense for health care providers, licensure litigation and commercial health care related litigation.

Mr. Bellamy is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Detroit Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association and the National Health Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
