Foster Swift attorneys to speak at Michigan Township Association Annual Conference

LANSING - Lisa Hamameh, of the Southfield office, will discuss options to successfully enforce blight ordinance violations. She will address the proper way to investigate, document and issue municipal civil infractions on Tuesday, April 11 at 1:00 pm.

Grand Rapids attorney Laura Genovich will discuss the "Nuts and Bolts of Writing Contracts." She will review the basics of contract content, provisions and risks. Genovich will cover everything participants need to know for drafting contracts Wednesday, April 12 at 10:15 am.

Anne Seurynck, of the Grand Rapids office, will explore all aspects of the Freedom of Information Act Wednesday, April 12 at 1:30 pm. She will review common exemptions, privacy, deadlines and process requests. Seurnyck will provide information regarding common mistakes and tips on how to avoid them.

 Michael Homier will present "Interlocal Divorces: Dissolving a Joint Fire, Ambulance or Building Authority" Wednesday, April 12 at 3:15 pm. He will discuss inevitable disagreements from assets to liabilities and explore options for minimizing these disputes between dissolving interlocal authorities.

Foster Swift will also have a panel of attorneys answer questions about the "Top Legal Issues Facing Townships in 2017" on Wednesday, April 12 at 3:15 pm. Topics include dark store valuations, special assessments, zoning and employment issues.
